چکیده

The aim of this work is to improve the microstructure, morphology, mechanical and corrosion behavior Zn-Ni layers electrodeposited on low alloy carbon steel. Some factors such as nickel concentration in electrolyte, electrolyte temperature current density are studied optimized. efficiency protect steel against HCl solution also work. morphologies microstructure were investigated by Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM) X-ray diffraction (XRD) respectively. best deposits obtained with 50%-Ni bath at a 40°C j = 3 A dm-2. XRD spectrum showed coexistence two phases: δ-phase (Ni3Zn22) γ-phase (Ni5Zn21), pyramidal morphology detected SEM. lost mass method results that rate tacked steady state between 10 50% Ni, it increased increase Ni amount bath.

Corrosion Protection of Steel Using Nonanomalous Ni-Zn-P Coatings

A novel technique for obtaining nonanomalous Ni-Zn-P coatings with high Ni content ~74 wt % as compared to 15-20 wt % in the conventional plating method! has been developed. These coatings show promise as a replacement for Cd in sacrificially protecting steel. Ni-Zn-P coatings were deposited using an electroless method from a solution containing NiSO4 , complexing agent and ammonium chloride. V...

Wear behavior of carbon steel electrodeposited by nanocrystalline Ni–W coating

Ni-W coatings, compared to pure nanocrystalline Ni, exhibit higher hardness and wear resistance. In some cases, these coatings are considered as environmental friendly alternatives for hard chromium coating. Till now, most of Ni-W coatings have been produced by direct current electrodeposition from alkaline baths. In this study square pulse current was used for deposition of Ni-W precipitates f...

The Effect of Siliconizing and Borosiliconizing Processes on Microstructure and Morphology of Carbon Steel Surface Layers

A study for optimizing of siliconizing and borosiliconizing processes on carbon steels has been carried out. The process parameters, i.e, time and powder mixture, were considered for optimization of the case depth, surface quality and the hardness profile. Time and temperature of the processes were 4 hr and 950˚C, respectively. Powder mixture in siliconizing process was 2.5% ferrosilicon, 2.5%...

Study of the Corrosion Resistance of Ni/CeO2 Composite Coatings Electrodeposited on Carbon Steel in Hydrochloric Acid

The phase formation of Ni-Ce composites onto a carbon steel electrode was investigated using electrochemical deposition. The anticorrosive properties of composite coating in 0.1 mol L HCl solution were studied by Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Incorporation of CeO2 particles into the Ni matrices was found to improve corrosion resistance of pure Ni coatings....
